From Perpignan off the D117 you will find the Chateau-de-Queribus and the Chateau-de-Peyrepertuse. About 1 to 1¼ hours drive. The Chateau-de-Peyrepertuse is probably the better of the two chateau but take care as the climb can be slippery. Both are in beautiful mountain settings and you can take a circular route via the Gorge-de-Galamus. The Gorge-de-Galamus is not to be missed – in July and August, a one way system operates through the gorge as it is very narrow.
